Etria, a town on Earth 8.
Earth 8 is a world first mentioned in season 2.

Earth 8 is one of the many alternate versions of Earth that have been represented by Champions.

Notable traits

Earth 8 is characterized by a mostly normal early 21st century and an unexpectedly medieval 31st century, in which technologies such as computers and toilets have been lost. Many regions now have alternate names: Shinjuku, Japan is now known as Etria, Scotland is Caledonia, and Denmark is High Lagaard.

The most distinctive features of Earth 8 are the seven Yggdrasil trees, massive plants containing dangerous labyrinths within. Communities near Yggdrasil trees develop economies focusing on explorers who enter the labyrinths to harvest resources from within. Each tree contains an extremely dangerous "Yggdrasil Core" which threatens to cause widespread destruction if released.

Dragons exist on Earth 8 and are considered a nuisance. Nonhuman sapient species (such as the forest folk) exist as well, but this does not appear to be common knowledge.

Unusual abilities in humans exist, and are largely normalized--Arianna Wakasa was surprised to learn that Takumi of Hoshido did not have abilities similar to hers. It is suggested that some abilities, such as reviving the dead, can be learned by individuals who do not have them naturally.

Point of divergence

Earth 8 diverged from the real Earth in the early twenty-first century CE, when for unknown reasons the global ecosystem collapsed, necessitating the Yggdrasil Project.
