Backstory

The eldest son of King Garon, Xander was the crown prince of Nohr. Nohr has been at war with their neighboring nation of Hoshido for years after Garon killed their king and kidnapped the Hoshidan princess, Corrin. Over the years many of Xander's younger siblings were killed in battle or at each others hands, leaving only himself and 3 others, as well as Corrin whom Garon adopted. The war escalated when Corrin was recaputred by Hoshido and decided to align herself with her birth family. Devastated by the loss, Xander starts a crusade against the other nation to get her back, eventually leading to his death at Corrin's hands. It is then that he arrives on the Champion Excellence Program station.

Season 5

Xander appeared as the Overseer for the new group of Champions and did not seem to recognize them. When he was invited to Touko Fukawa's party for an obscure human romance festival, he claimed to not have a lover, indicating that he has forgotten them, or at least forgotten Lightning Farron. He implied that E.P.'s organization offered him a way to revive Elise, the sister he accidentally killed when she prevented him from striking down Corrin.

Laslow and Peri, as shown in Xander's painting of them
  • Princess Corrin: Xander's younger adopted sister, and the one who eventually kills him. There is some debate on the exact nature of Xander's feelings for her, or if she is even human. Married Xander's Hoshidan counterpoint Ryoma and had two unnamed children with him.

  • Camilla, Leo and Elise: Xander's younger blood siblings. It is Elise's accidental death at his hands that spurs Xander into his duel with Corrin.
  • King Garon: Xander's father. A seemingly cruel king and parent. Xander indicates that he had changed at some point shortly before Corrin was kidnapped. It is theorized this might be due to mental illness or some sort of outside influence, possibly even E.P. manipulating events in the Champions' worlds before kidnapping them.
  • Queen Katerina: Xander's mother. Little is said about her other then Xander's affection for her and that she and Garon met in Cyrkensia, a neutral territory bordering Nohr.
  • Laslow and Peri: Xander's retainers and dear friends.
  • Unnamed retainers: Two Nohrians shown in Xander's regrets motive. A man and a woman, one apparently owned a wyvern, but nothing else is known about them.

Notes

Trivia

  • While he does not appear to have memories of his time in the Champion Excellence Program come season 5, he does mention that only the Ultimate Champion has their powers back, so it is possible that he knows he is the Ultimate Champion.
  • Xander is the only character to both die and survive in the same season.
